University of St. Thomas STAT
Led the development of STandards Aptitude Testing an application designed to integrate multiple university systems and deliver roll-up views for students, faculty, and accreditation groups. I constructed a one-stop, secure system merging information from the enterprise systems of Banner, BlackBoard, Optix, and MS Exchange to show student progress from entry to post-graduation. STAT has proven extremely successful and is being ported to other colleges and departments.

Stephanie Hynes Photography
Designed and developed a Flash-based site to quickly and dynamically display
the photographer's portfolio in a way that engages with the end user. I worked

University of St. Thomas 125th Anniversary
Headed the development of this Flash-based site which utilizes a unique use of ActionScript 3, algebraic calculations, and XML allowing for the display of this information in a beautiful, streamlined, and engaging manner. While working closely with the graphic designer and motion graphics designer, I implemented AS3's bitmap class to retain photo quality, when images are displayed in various sizes, as well as the filter classes for blurring and color changes. By using calculations based on amount of data loaded buttons are activated when a particular decade's information is ready.
Technologies: Java, XML, Actionscript 3, Javascript

University of St. Thomas Smart 404
404 errors are quite frustrating and never seem to indicate the real problem. In response, I spearheaded the implementation of a "smart" 404 page. By analyzing the entered URL, and using a custom built soundex algorithm, the nearest matches are displayed to help guide the user to a speedy solution delivering quality information rather than a standard 404 error message. I worked closely with a user interface designer to decide on placement and structure of the displayed information.
Technologies: Java, jsp, JSON, PL-SQL, custom soundex algorithm
